In the Valley

Do I have a new author to place in my mental “Will Read Anything This Person Writes” file? Yes. It’s Ron Rash.

(In the Valley is his latest and includes short stories set in both contemporary and Civil War-era Appalachia. And it ends with a novella that follows up with that “Appalachian Lady Macbeth” I really love to hate. That would be Serena, and you can see my post on Aug. 18 about that eponymous novel.)
